When we look back on 2017, it’s sometimes hard to fully grasp the changing nature of the world we live in. From blockchain to drone deliveries, technology is transforming the way we live, and 2017 has been a landmark year for leaps in innovation. Join us on our journey through 2017, as we revel in some nostalgia over some of the events that made 2017 a year we won’t soon forget.
1. Responsible leadership for all
2017 began with our trip to Davos during the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting. The core theme, “Responsive and Responsible Leadership” set the stage for impactful discussions throughout the following week, and year.
Welcoming the IBX team to Tradeshift was a hallmark of this year; we could hardly wait to announce it! We look forward to more exciting innovations, together as one, in this year to come.
3. She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s ruling the AI space
Great things happen when we all get together. This is the mentality behind our yearly Global Team Camp, in which the entire company works together in teams to hack new projects. Hence, Tradeshift Ada, our AI platform, was born.
Our recognition on The Forrester Wave: eProcurement, Q2 2017 as a Strong Performer was terrific validation for our innovative approach to a space ripe for disruption. We’re excited to see where we go in the coming months.
5. The crystal ball for procurement
2017 broke tradition in many ways and these changes had an impact on procurement. Were they everything we predicted? Well, yes and no. Watch the webinar, and start revving your predictions for 2018.
6. Explorers, seafarers, and seven-way matching
Every 90 days, we offer concrete innovation with our Magellan product releases. This year, in Magellan 2, we focused on enhancing customization, because we know that no one wants to settle for standardized, rigid processes that don’t match your business needs.
”Together with our e-invoicing partner Tradeshift and our key relationship bank Citi, we developed a fully integrated, one channel and seamless invoice-to-cash platform. It is complemented with an accelerated supplier payment feature in the form of a receivable purchase option.” We are proud that our customer Kuehne +Nagel stood out from among the 211 organizations from 30 countries that sent in nominations this year and that we are part of their success story.
8. Get serious about your procure-to-pay success
Earlier this year we produced a report: The Ultimate Guide to Procure-to-Pay Success. While much of this delves into the nuances and challenges we anticipated in 2017, a lot can be taken away from this guide for 2018 as well. Give it a read, and get ready!
9. What’s trade got to do with it?
HSBC announced a partnership with us to offer supply chain financing and today, we announced that our partner in China, CreditEase, launched a new app on our global platform to offer receivables financing for Chinese exporters. While existing trade agreements and partnerships were re-evaluated internationally, we were proud to help innovate across borders to truly enable commerce for all.
10. Commerce for all, from Denmark to China
Speaking of cross-borders trade innovation, Tradeshift SVP APAC and Co-Founder, Mikkel Hippe Brun has been selected as the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China at their 11th annual awards ceremony in November. This recognition further validated our expansion the region, which we hope to grow in 2018.
As the sun sets on this year, it’s important to look back at accomplishments before pushing full steam ahead into 2018. We’re glad you’ve joined us on this journey, and hope you’re ready to embark on the next 365 days of adventure.
