Meet Tradeshift’s newest leadership hires

February 26, 2020 Martin Malloy

2020 is poised to be a pivotal year for Tradeshift. We recently announced our latest funding round of $240 million and what it will help us achieve. This year, we’re focusing our efforts on areas of the business that will lead us into profitability by year’s end while still delivering on ambitious goals to level the global playing field and deliver commerce for all.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce our newest leaders who will help us do just that.

Janet Heppner-Jones, VP of North America Sales

Heppner-Jones started her career as a Sales Representative with IBM, where she quickly found herself in the top 1 percent of the sales team, earning the prestigious Eagle Award. Since then, she has continued to exceed expectations in a number of diverse roles, where she has held global executive responsibilities at multinational companies including SAP, Ariba, Dassault Systems, and ABB. She has an impressive and successful background in digital solutions and SaaS sales leadership, most recently leading the sales team at Baker Hughes.

At Tradeshift, she’s setting her sights on accelerating our 60 percent growth rate through increasing deal sizes, working closely with our partners in North America, and providing leadership for the North American sales force.

“I joined Tradeshift because I believe in the core mission to deliver commerce for all. Every enterprise buyer and seller should be able to connect and do business commerce together just as easily as all of us, as consumers, do on our phones every day. With Tradeshift, that can actually become a reality, while also providing access to cheap capital—that is, when Shift Happens.”

Tony Alvarez, VP of Network

Alvarez began his career at Arthur Andersen Consulting before getting his MBA at Harvard. He then built a storied career in marketplace development and network monetization, guiding large deal negotiations along the way. That path led him to SAP Ariba, where he spent 10 years in several senior leadership positions across commercial and operational functions. Most recently, he was SVP of Ariba Business Network Solutions.

He’ll now be leading the Network team at Tradeshift, responsible for seller onboarding and GMV growth as well as the Tradeshift early payment and Marketplace offerings.

“The strategy of selling clunky procurement software to large enterprises and expecting their supply base to jump through countless hoops just doesn’t work anymore. Over the last ten years, Tradeshift has built a truly open network of businesses (both large and small) which are able to transact with each other while using the software that best suits them. I am delighted to be part of the Tradeshift team because we are truly turning B2B commerce on its head. We wake up every morning with the mission of making B2B commerce easier. Whether it's legal invoicing, tax compliance, access to capital, or marketplace selling, our goal is to delight our end users, and I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities to do so."

Henry Goh, VP of APAC Sales

Goh comes to Tradeshift with a wealth of experience in go-to-market strategy in APAC, and we couldn’t be happier to have him join the team. He spent time leading teams across Asia for both PwC and Oracle before spending 10 years running APAC sales for Ariba. His extensive experience guiding large deal negotiations—from cultivating and developing deals to formulating and constructing them—will be invaluable as he guides the APAC sales team at Tradeshift.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join Tradeshift. It’s such an amazing company with great product offerings and an excellent collection of people. The opportunity to lead APAC sales is tremendous and the potential for growth is truly limitless.”

Raphael Bres, Chief Product Officer

While based in San Francisco, Bres brings with him an international background as he takes on leadership of our global product team. Earning graduate degrees from Université Paris Dauphine, Bres went on to build his career at Deloitte, Oracle, and Microsoft. From there, he spent 20 years building ERP’s at Workday, FinancialForce, and Peoplesoft—experience that he will now continue at Tradeshift as he leads the development of our enterprise products to provide unique solutions to our customers.

“I immediately connected with Tradeshift company’s mission and vision. I clearly saw how my goals align with helping all businesses adopt digital trade while offering immediate access to working capital, faster and cheaper than ever. There’s a true need in the global market and I’m excited about the tremendous opportunity ahead of us.

During my first interactions with Tradeshift, I had the chance to meet with talented leaders and there's nothing I love more than working with other engaged individuals towards a common goal. I know my background in ERP, SaaS/PaaS, finance, localizations, product management, product strategy, and product marketing has prepared me for this role. I look forward to becoming a valued contributor to this phenomenal team.”
