So what does AI do in the Supply Chain? Companies are flooding the market with sci-fi tales of AI solving every automated function. But the reality is the workflow hasn’t changed. What AI really does is add intelligence to your workflow. It gives you more accurate data more quickly to help connect suppliers and buyers faster and more intelligently. 

Whereas stop-gap automation solutions like RPA and document scanning technology only take what humans do and do it faster. While these technologies can improve speed, they can’t offer any greater insight or give you intelligent suggestions. They’re great additions to ancient processes, but they’re not improving your company’s ability to make better purchasing decisions. 

AI helps you make sense of all your data. It can automatically categorize spend, organize invoice data, process long-tail spend, analyze invoice costs, and therefore make your work far more efficient and intelligent.
